Saffron Gate

Description

This tie opens with a warm burnt saffron ground of horizontal ribbed silk that catches the light in bands across the surface. Across it, ivory 8-point geometric stars alternate with small single diamond points in a pattern drawn from the architectural vocabulary of the Islamic golden age. The 8-point star is one of the most enduring motifs in the tradition, a symbol of regeneration and the eight gates of paradise. To wear saffron is to wear the colour of ceremony. This tie belongs at weddings, at Eid, at the moments that deserve more than ordinary colour.
